The Job Outlook: Which job is right for you?

So you already have a job or are nearly ready to decide upon a career path? It might be nice to know where the experts expect the money to be over the next few decades. Think technology and baby boomers. The medical, educational, and financial industries should show substantial growth in the next several decades.

Which industries are growing?

If you think about the current economic situation in our country all it takes is common sense in pinpointing sectors of the job market that are shaky and those that are growing. With baby boomers into their peak earning years and approaching retirement there will be a sure explosion in certain areas: financial and estate planning, health care, leisure and entertainment services.

Baby boomers aside there are other obvious trends that are changing the job market. Technology and computers are here to stay. That means there will be more and more job openings for computer systems analysts, programmers, network administrators and other computing specialists.

Which jobs are on their way out?

You've probably already noticed that certain types of jobs are disappearing: either going over seas or are not needed. These include many manufacturing jobs, farming and similar jobs, tech support.

Which job is best for you?

Education is more important now that ever before. Even if you haven't recieved a lot of formal education (college, graduate school) there are many ways to get the training that you need to get into a job that you'll enjoy and will pay your bills.
